Thomas Leon Young age 91, passed away at his home in Mangum surrounded by family on May 16, 2022. Tom was born July 01, 1930 in Collinsville, Grayson County, Texas to William (Jeff) and Hazel (Light) Young, one of two children. He married Joyce Thomas on August 26, 1950 at the Baptist Parsonage Home in Mangum. 

Tom joined the United States Air Force April 25, 1952 and retired Technical Sergeant/E6 as a Security Police SUPV, May 01, 1972. In 1974, Tom went to work at Oklahoma State Reformatory in Granite, Greer County, Oklahoma for ten years before retiring in 1984. After his retiring from the reformatory, Tom dedicated his time to his farms. 

Tom is survived by his two daughters, Mary Rogers and husband Ned of Lone Wolf, OK; Martha Young of Mangum, and one son David and fiancée Karen Brunson of Mangum; eight grandchildren, Maria Meek, Lynett Duwe, Amber Galloway, Christopher Holt and Dawn Wanderbergh, Justin, Alexandra, and Joshua Young and 7 great grandchildren; Ashley and Andrew Miller, Brent and Isaac Galloway, Molly and Maddison Meek, LaNae Young, two great-great grandchildren, Christina Quintero and Orion Bishich. Tom is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. 

Tom is preceded in death by his parents Jeff and Hazel Young, loving wife Joyce, one son William Jeff, one sister Carolyn Johnson and a great granddaughter Rachel Swanson. 

Graveside services were held Thursday, May 19, 2022, 2:00 P.M. at Roselawn Cemetery in Mangum under the direction of Peoples Cooperative Funeral Home from Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, and was officiated by a dear friend, Bunny Mitchell. 

In lieu of flowers, the family request memoriams for Tom be made to the Mangum-Friends of the Library, 201 W. Lincoln St., Mangum, OK.
