Lesli Duncan was featured on Channel 9 back in 1991 for creating T-shirts for families of military personnel that had an outline of Oklahoma with a big bow and the name of the military person on it. This was during the time of the Gulf War.

New books chronicles SW Oklahoma women

A mother-and-daughter team of Jackson County Oklahoma have published two new books which cover the lives and stories of the women of southwest Oklahoma’s five counties. “Prairie Mothers In Their Own Words” is drawn from interviews with 51 local women, which were collected for over a decade by local biographer Glyna Marple Olson and her daughter, Lisa Olson Rogers of Edmond.

City receives funds to install new automatic remote meters

The City of Mangum has secured a grant to install automatic remote meters which will eliminate City workers from having to go out with handheld devices to read water meters each month. “The grant makes this project 100% financed,” said Mangum Mayor Jackie Menasco. “This will save a lot of man hours each week,” she Menasco.
