Mangum Mayor Jackie Menasco has announced the hiring of Erma Mora as the Interim City Manager. “We are excited to announce that Erma has been named the Interim City Manager. Erma has been working for the city for about seven years and has moved through the ranks.”

Granite Public School receives Chevy Tahoe donation

Through a connection of Mr. Robert Coffman, our School Resource Officer (SRO), and Chesapeake Energy’s former employee Mr. David Strozdas, Granite Public School administration was able to contact Mr. Mark Mollman, Emergency Response Specialist with Chesapeake Energy, to receive the generous donation of a 2010 Chevy Tahoe for the school district.

Candidates can file for School Board seat Dec. 4-6

The Board of Education of Mangum Public School District has announced that statutorily qualified individuals interested in running as a candidate for the #4 seat on the Mangum Board of Education may file to run as a candidate for this seat at the Greer County Election Board between the hours of 8 AM and 5 PM on each of the following days: Monday, Dec. 4 through Wednesday, Dec. 6.

Imbruvica shouldn’t be withheld long before or after procedures

DEAR DR. ROACH: I am 75 and have had Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia for three years, which has been treated with ibrutinib (Imbruvica) and is now in remission. A side effect of Imbruvica is bleeding, and it requires the drug to be withheld before procedures.
