Riding club offers horse rides to residents, community

The Red River Cowboy Church Riding Club hosted a family-fun event at the Mangum Skilled Nursing & Therapy in Mangum last week allowing residents and community members the opportunity to ride horses, a covered wagon, and kiddie train for the kids.
Plans under way for Holiday Food Drive, meal

A meeting was held this week at the Greer County Welcome Center with representatives from the Health Department, Mangum community members and church, and other agencies to discuss how to better provide Mangum and Greer County citizens in need with food for the holidays.
Greer Bucks drawing tickets now being distributed at participating businesses

Each year the Greer County Chamber of Commerce hosts two different Hometown Christmas events that include bingo and other games, vendors, a tree lighting and parade. Leading up to the events, participating local businesses give out tickets for the Greer Bucks drawing. They should receive one ticket for every $10 they spend at that time.
Fall Carnival to be held at Edison on Saturday

It’s Red Ribbon Week

Students at Edison Elementary School are celebrating Red Ribbon Week this week by wearing red to bring attention to the importance of living a drug-free life. Red Ribbon Week presents an opportunity for parents, educators, and communities to reinforce the drug-free messages they share with their children throughout the year. During Red Ribbon Week, youth and adults around the nation pledge to increase their knowledge by learning more about the destructive effects of drug abuse, including prescription drug misuse, and renew their commitment to live a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
