Applications being accepted for renewable energy system grants

STILLWATER, OKLA., Sept. 29, 2023 – U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Oklahoma State Director Kenneth Corn has announced that USDA is now accepting applications for grants to help agricultural producers and rural small businesses invest in renewable energy systems and make energy-efficiency improvements. USDA has made available $1 billion in grants under the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP), with funding from President Biden’s landmark Inflation Reduction Act, which has made historic levels of investment available to Oklahoma and is recognized as the best way to grow the economy from the middle out and bottom up.
Free workshop to focus on environmental law enforcement

Lady Tigers fall to Pocola Indians at Super Regionals

Despite having a good season, the Mangum Lady Tigers received a high seed [15th] in the softball Super Regionals and that meant playing a low seed – the No. 2 Pocola Indians (27-4), whose star pitcher/infielder (a junior) has committed to the national champion Oklahoma Sooners.
Event raises $10,000 for Police and Fire Departments

There were several events held in Mangum this past Saturday to benefit the Mangum Police and Fire Departments. They included a Burn Out, Mud Bog and events such as a Foot Race and Tug-of-War.
