The Sheriff’s Office took a theft report this evening in Mangum. Sometime between yesterday evening and this evening someone stole a 20’ metal catwalk walkway like is used for a rig.
Assessors to begin assessing on East side

Greer County Assessor’s office will have John Brackett with Red Dirt Assessments in the Mangum area doing property assessments. He will be driving a red Toyota Tacoma and wearing a straw hat.
Easton Binghom Benefit lunch scheduled

A benefit is scheduled for five-year-old Easton Binghom. Easton is the five-year-old son of Bryne and Dacia Binghom.

On July 22, 2023, at approximately 3:30 a.m. while patrolling in Mangum, Sheriff McMahan and Undersheriff Stevens apprehended 51-year-old Robert Price, a convicted sex offender out of Texas, for loitering within 500 feet of a park.
Governor Stitt appoints new district judge

Governor Kevin Stitt appointed Rafe Hall to serve as the District Judge for the Third Judicial District which includes Greer, Harmon, Jackson, Kiowa, and Tillman Counties. Judge Hall graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1990 with a degree in Organizational Administration and a minor in Marketing before earning his juris doctorate from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1994.
Vehicle fire threatens shelter belt

At 1524 we were toned out to a reported vehicle fire that was spreading into the grass and a shelter belt. Fire was spreading rapidly towards the river and additional departments were dispatched that included Hester Fire, Granite Fire, Blair Fire, Willow Fire, Martha Fire, and Duke Fire. Greer County Sheriff’s Office, Granite Police, and Greer County EMS were also on scene assisting, as well as Greer County Emergency Management.
