Congratulations to Mr. Andrews and all the band members. They went to Elk City on February 14 to compete in the Pre-District Contest. We are happy to report they received straight superior 1’s on stage and received an excellent rating of 2 in sight-reading. They will return to Elk City on February 28 to perform again at District Contest.

Congratulations to the Granite Boys Basketball team on being named the Class B Basketball Academic Champions. They have the highest GPA among all 130 Class B boys teams. 10 of 12 players posted 4.0 GPA’s for the semester, and the cumulative GPA came in at a 3.96. That 3.96 is good for #1 in the state, and we have offi cially been named the 2024 Academic State Champions for Class B Boys Basketball.

The No. 11 Granite Panthers stun the No. 3 Fort Cobb-Broxton Mustangs, 54-48, in order to capture the Regional Championship. Scoring was lead this past weekend by SR Devon Polk with a career high (23) and JR Justice Davenport (15).

Congratulations to the Western Oklahoma State College Pioneers Men’s Team for bringing home the championship title at K-State. Camden Hoelting and Stran Morris were the Team roping Champions and Jesse Hopper is the bull riding champion with his 89-point ride in the short round.

Turning the calendar to another January, I wonder what this year is going to bring. Exciting fishing trips, heart-racing hunts, and making memories with my family come to mind. Well, we here at the Wildlife Department also have some things on the Outdoor Oklahoma radar that we want to share with you.
