Davie Lee Brice was born on January 17, 1935, and on Saturday, March 30, 2024, the Lord called his name. He was born in Vinson, OK, to William Alexander Brice and Ida Virginia Glenn Brice.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings. Dave is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jean (Fatherree) Brice. He had two children, daughter Pamela and husband Kevin Haake of Cashion and son James “Jim” and wife Audra Brice of Mustang. He also had four grandchildren, Randy Ray Poole of Oklahoma City, Lourie and husband Nick Ward of Cashion, Daniel Haake and fiancé Brandy Campbell of Marlow, and RaeAnna Lynne Brice “Naner” of Mustang.

He had six great grandchildren, Wyatt Ward, Gabriel Haake, Amelia Haake, Gracelynn Campbell, Payson Campbell, and Cory “Bubba Beau” Campbell.

Dave and Jean were married on September 26, 1959, in Wellington, Texas. Dave was employed at C.H. Guernsey and Jean was the homemaker. They moved to Mangum, OK, where their daughter was born. A few years later, they moved to Bethany, OK, where their son was born. Dave and Jean both worked at Lucent Technologies and retired from there in 2001. They then settled in Yukon, OK, where they enjoyed their twentythree years of retirement together.

Throughout Dave’s life, his hobbies were electronics, old radios, and old cars.

His favorite type of dog since childhood was German Shepherd, and he loved his own named “Rocky”. His favorite car was a 1957 Chevrolet, two-door hard-top which he loved seeing when he went to car shows with his son.

One of his favorite past times was watching tv and especially old western shows like Gunsmoke. He also enjoyed watching the Sooners and the Thunder sports teams.

For several years, he traveled and sang gospel music with the Gospel Crusaders and later in years he loved singing with his family. Dave was known for his smooth bass voice and anyone who had heard him sing knew he had a passion for singing for the Lord.

Dave had a host of relatives and friends that he was very fond of, and they were very special to him and his family.

Above all, he loved his wife and family and spending time with them. Dave (“Papa”) will be greatly missed.

We love and miss you very much, Dad. Thank you for being a great man, a great husband, a great father and most of all, our “Daddy”.

Services will be held 11:00am Friday, April 5 at McNeil’s Funeral Service, Mustang, OK with interment following in the Red Hill Cemetery, Mustang.
