COACHES CORNER

Body

Some athletes enjoy getting out and competing for their sport because they love the game or they love competition. But for people like Morgan White, the name across the jersey is more than just a name of their school.

“I am a fifth generation Mangum Tiger and my community and school mean so much to me,” she said. “And I hope with my leadership skills on and off the court  and field that I can always lead by good example of sportsmanship and respect.”

Hunting, fishing and wildlife opportunities in SW Oklahoma offered

Body
Did you know that the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation has over 100 areas that we manage for hunting, fishing, and wildlife watching? Across five management regions, the Wildlife Department’s dedicated biologists manage these diverse habitats for a myriad of species (both plant and animal). There are many WMAs that we talk about a lot due to the exciting opportunities they provide via our social media channels or emails that we share with license holders. Although we give some WMAs the spotlight more often, every WMA in the state is protected for a reason, and management ongoing in these areas creates opportunities that you may be unaware of.

‘Hunters Against Hunger’ program provides meat to Oklahoma’s hungry

Body
Hunters Against Hunger is a cooperative program with hunters, your local processor, and the Wildlife Department, that provides high-quality meals to Oklahoma’s hungry. How the program works: Hunters who legally harvest a deer during any of this year’s deer seasons can donate the meat to feed hungry Oklahomans.
