Mangum ended the regular season in 3rd place in the district, behind Apache and Walters and ahead of the 4th place Hobart Bearcats. The Tigers have played Hooker numerous times in the playoff games and have not had much luck against them.

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt announced this past week his plan to make sports betting a reality in Oklahoma. The Governor’s plan, which would allow Oklahomans to place in-person bets at gaming sites operated by federally recognized tribes, would protect tribal investments in brickand- mortar facilities. The plan would also allow Oklahomans to place bets on their mobile devices on a sportsbook licensed by the state. Additionally, the plan protects Oklahoma’s student-athletes by prohibiting prop betting and bets on individual student- athlete performance.

Halloween Fright night almost came a little early last Thursday night when the Tiger traveled to Carnegie for their last regular season game. Mangum was favored to win as they entered the game with an overall record of 7-2 and a district record of 3-2.

Mangum is getting ready to close out the regular season as they travel to Carnegie on Friday night. Teams now have the option at the beginning of the season to begin play a week earlier than other teams in what they call “week zero”. This gives them an option of a bye week during the season. Mangum used that option, and their bye week is the week before the playoffs begin. Mangum pretty much has 3rd place locked in in their district, behind Apache and Walters. This will give them an extra week of practice and a chance to have a bit of a rest before they begin district play.
