Mullens named Employee of the Month

In March the City of Mangum recognized Shelly Mullens in their Accounts Payable Department as Employee of the Month. This recognition earned her one paid breakfast or lunch from the City Manager herself, a half day off paid, and a chance for Employee of the Year..
Gov. Signs Bill to Protect Privacy of Homemade Food Producers

Summer program for children and youth to address food insecurity

Oklahoma students get more than instruction in reading, writing and arithmetic at school – it’s also where they get a nutritious lunch. With the school year ending in a few weeks, families struggling with food insecurity will need to fill that gap.

Callie Griffis a Senior at Mangum High School. She is the daughter of Sarah and Chris Dreyer, and the late Lance Griffis. When asked, why she would like to be Derby Princess her response was, “To represent my community. It is also a learning experience and to build my confidence in public speaking, and to make new friends.”
Wheat Variety Trail Tour to be held Monday in Altus

A Wheat Variety Trail Tour will be held Monday, April 22 at 3 PM at the Southwest Research and Extension Center in Altus. Tour topics will include wheat varieties used based on pest and disease resistance, wheat weed control, wheat planet disease management, and wheat insect control.
Rattlesnake Derby and Flea Market set for next weekend in Mangum

Thousands of people flock to Mangum each year for the Rattlesnake Derby and Flea Market. The fun-filled event happens each year the last full weekend of April, this year falling next weekend, April 26-28.
